Pirates Preview: Bucs try and rebound after shutout-loss to Cardinals

Pittsburgh Pirates News

The Pittsburgh Pirates will look to rebound from a 4-0 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals when they host the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night at PNC Park. The Pirates have lost four of their last five games and are now 23-32 on the season.

The Cardinals scored all four of their runs in the second inning off Pirates starter JT Brubaker. Brubaker allowed four hits and four walks in 4 1/3 innings. He struck out four batters.

The Pirates offense was held in check by Cardinals starter Jack Flaherty. Flaherty allowed just four hits and one walk in seven innings. He struck out nine batters.

The Pirates will send right-hander Mitch Keller to the mound on Tuesday night. Keller is 3-4 with a 4.50 ERA this season. The Brewers will counter with right-hander Brandon Woodruff. Woodruff is 4-3 with a 3.60 ERA this season.

The Pirates are hoping to avoid a season-high five-game losing streak. The Brewers have won three of their last four games.
