India vs Sri Lanka

The 2014 ICC World Twenty20 Final was played between India and Sri Lanka at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on 6 April 2014. Sri Lanka won the match by six wickets to claim their first World Twenty20 title.

India won the toss and elected to bat first. They made a solid start, with Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan putting on a 54-run opening partnership. However, Sri Lanka's bowlers fought back, and India were eventually restricted to 130/4 from their 20 overs.

Sri Lanka's chase got off to a poor start, with Kusal Perera being dismissed for a duck in the first over. However, Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara steadied the innings, and they put on a 60-run partnership for the second wicket. Sangakkara was eventually dismissed for 35, but Jayawardene continued to bat well and he finished on 74 not out from 50 balls.

Sri Lanka reached their target with six wickets and three balls to spare. Jayawardene was named the Man of the Match for his match-winning innings.
