Arsenal overcome first leg deficit to reach Women's Champions League semi-finals

Maanum and Blackstenius on target as Gunners overturn 1-0 loss in Munich

Arsenal 2-0 Bayern Munich (agg 2-1)

Arsenal have reached the semi-finals of the Women's Champions League for the first time after a dominant 2-0 second leg victory over Bayern Munich at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.

Frida Maanum and Stina Blackstenius scored the goals in the first half to overturn the 1-0 deficit from the first leg in Munich.

The Gunners were the better side throughout and could have won by a bigger margin, with Bayern goalkeeper Maria-Luisa Grohs making several fine saves.

Arsenal will now face either Barcelona or Roma in the semi-finals, with the draw to be made on Friday.

Jonas Eidevall's side are now unbeaten in their last 13 matches in all competitions and will be confident of going all the way in Europe this season.
